Selecting HD Channels Only in the guide results in several missing HD channels (namely 6.1, 8.1, 10.1, and 10.2 which are CBS, NBC, and two local PBS stations broadcasting in 1080i and 720p respectively) and includes several that should not be displayed.
If you move into the future in the guide and then toggle between All Channels and HD Channels Only, the guide resets back to the current time.
The way it works at the moment is that we filter on what is showing in the period - so channels streaming at 720 would get included even if SD channels and channels only streaming 480 in the period covered would be excluded if only streaming 480
It is being discussed with development as to whether it should be changed but some countries do not have the HD/SD channel identification and also it would result in loss of visibility of some HD content
First of all, channels don’t stream, they broadcast.
Secondly, regardless of the content, channelsbroadcast at a certain resolution.
These channels broadcast in HD in my area:
ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CW, PBS, and MyTV
I expect that the guide will ALWAYS display these channels. It’s how every other guide I’ve used in the past 10+ years has worked. For a good example of how it should be done, visit http://zap2.it.com (or any other online TV guide website), select HD channels only and see what is displayed. Hint: HD broadcast channels.
Well here’s a thought: follow a country’s convention. In the US, we have HD broadcast channels. In the US, the Plex guide should display those HD broadcast channels, just like every other guide in the US does.
