Hardware DVR transcoding working with p400 w/o cpu support

Just installed an Nvidia Quatro p400 into my older server to try and use hardware encoding and it is working better than I had hoped. It is working both for encoding and streaming my saved tv shows and movies, but also Live HD Transcoding from my 4tuner PCIe.
I have dual Xeon 2.13ghz, they had been maxed at 3 recordings, with no hardware support.
Without the p400 I could not stream 4k, either direct or transcoded, without skipping.
Simply adding the p400 has allowed 4 recordings with live transcoding, along with simultaneous 1080p streaming. Rare, but it might happen.
I can now also stream 4k with no skipping, both direct and transcoded to my phone. And it is showing HW transcoding.
With a GPU utilization of around 40%
I am writing this because I could not find the answer. Again, no CPU HW support, but adding a quatro card enables hw encoding/transcoding.

Do you have a wattage limit on this server’s pci-e slot?

I have had trouble finding the specs of my T410 motherboard, but with the p400 card only needing 30w, i know that would be within the limit of a 16x pcie slot. (66w)

Ah, tower model… it has full wattage available to the pci-e slot so technically you can plug pretty much anything in there.

Rack versions have power restrictions on them :frowning:
