After a period of not using plex pass because I had no capable gpu, I bought a quadro p400 for my server.
I installed the latest drivers and just started my plex pass again.
The problem is my plex server is unable to hardware transcode…
I am using:
H264 source material.
Windows server 2016 may update (2019),
quadro p400 with 436.02 drivers.
4k display dummy in the quadro card.
Quadro set as main gpu in bios.
access to server - RDP or IPMI kvm.
I used to use hardware accelerated transcoding in the past, with an intel igpu and I had no issues. It was another motherboard with a J3455 cpu, I was accessing the server remotely, just like now.
Now, it is not working. When selecting a different quality in the android player, it takes a while, sometimes I even get a (hw) in the dashboard for a second, but in the end it just goes to software transcoding.
I come back to add logs and picture.
I restarted the server. I played a file over internet from my android phone. It software transcodes. source file is h264. I downloaded the logs. Plex Media Server Logs_2019-09-05_09-55-11.zip (1.2 MB)
While reading some different topics online, I see one thing that dazzlez me and I do not know if this should be taken into consideration.
Requirements: Intel Quick Sync. Is this required even if I am using a dedicated GPU in order to use Hardware acceleration?

Yes, I have a dummy attached. I also enabled auto login in windows. Bios set to use P400 as main GPU. This should be my only “physical” display as I am accessing the server remotely, so not sure how to extend display.
