Hardware transcoding cpu vs gpu - both? Within VM on Unraid

Hi there

I plan to use PLEX in a VM running on UNRAID along with Kodi and a single GPU.
I see a lot of articles which talk about a comparison between Hardware transcoding methods.

I have a PLEX Pass, I also have a 10900K (QuickSync) and I have a new GTX1660 - bought from much research.

When you enable hardware transcoding does it pick either of the two, or both CPU and GPU. Is there a setting where I can experiment? Can they no run together? Or is there a priority system?

Ideally I would like to use the same GPU running a Kodi to, using the HDMI as well as it transcoding for PLEX. This is due to having no spare PCIe for HBAs.

Would really welcome advice from people who have done similar setups :slightly_smiling_face:
