Hardware Transcoding for AMD CPU

Hi all,

I seem to understand that AMD hardware transcoding is not supported yet.
I’m building a NAS / streamer server and I would take in consideration this SBC, for the power consumption and the great benchmark:

The question is, the AMD HW transcoding is supported? If not, there is a plan from plex developers to support it?

Plex won’t usually comment on their roadmap.

The best you can get is this little statement from the related support article:

Note: Our hardware-transcoding system has technical support for many dedicated AMD graphics cards, but we haven’t done official, full testing on those. Support for AMD GPUs is provided “as is” and your mileage may vary. It is recommended that you use Intel Quick Sync Video or a dedicated NVIDIA GPU.

Beyond that, maybe you can find some positive references for that particular model / GPU using the forum search.

Edit: apologies… I noticed too late this is actually about Linux

Not that I’m aware of… however that doesn’t mean much.
