Hardware Transcoding Not Working in x.xxx.6xxx updates. (Docker)

Server Version#: Any update above x.xxx.5999

Running in Docker on Ubuntu 20

Latest updates won’t allow transcoding in HW. using intel UHD630 in i5-9600K. If I downgrade to x.xxx.5999 it works fine, but any update past that and I get this error in logs

Req#14e5/Transcode/5wzi1i0j03ia688fsuxv9u1z/3c524917-8f50-49a8-9e34-7f7eb8634f3c] [AVHWDeviceContext @ 0x7f5bfae8a580] No matching devices found.

Known problem for PMS 1.28.1 beta train

Stay with PMS 1.28.0 builds until Beta repaired

Ok will this be listed on the patch notes when fixed? I see it’s at 1.28.2 now

Yes, they will list it in the release notes when fixed.

Awesome thanks!

If you have it on, turn off HDR Tone Mapping. HW still works for me if this is disabled on Ubuntu 22.04 using the latest releases. But, if you have the deb for 1.28.x build to roll back to can you please post it? I’m guessing this is a slim chance if you’re using a container, unless it’s inside the container itself.

GOOD NEWS!

TO ALL FOLLOWING HERE:

Docker PMS is no longer needed for Hardware HDR tone mapping

You can

  1. stop docker plex
  2. install PMS 1.29.1 ,
  3. Let the database update
  4. Return to using the native package
