Dear all,
is it possible (or even in development) to use the GPU to decode videos but at the same time insisting for the cpu to do the encoding?
Especially newer x265 4K videos in the library take a lot of cpu time to decode. Hardwaredecoding should be lossless but takes a lot of load from the cpu. But in order to achieve high picture quality it would be a reasonable option to let the encoding process be done by the cpu.
Is there a seperate option planned to enable/disable hw encoding and hw decoding sepreately? 
Also: is an option for x265 encoder planned for the media optimizer? H265/4K/HEVC media is gaining more and more momentum, so it seems a good fit for PLEX IMO…
