I really don’t care what else they do as long as they get HW transcoding working properly. But that should be priority #1. Hopefully by now they’ve noticed their userbase screaming for it, after several years.

Customer-oriented mindset: Exploit the benefits and minimize the drawbacks of each software client, without having to stunt them all due to the limitations of one.
Developer-oriented mindset: Customers will have one interface, they… umm…need that.
