I’m trying to set up the DVR. I plugged my Hauppauge 955q in to my ubuntu 14.04 server, and clicked dvr setup wizard in plex. But it looks like plex only wants network devices? I tried manual and entering the local ip, but that didn’t work.
It never finds it.
Am I doing something wrong?
i wonder the same, the Plex help page isn’t clear about this.
Also having the same problem.
Attempted /dev/dvb/adapter/frontend0 in lieu of an IP address and it errors.
Had to change my update channel to the Plex Pass channel and the update did the trick.
Looking for the same. Using a headless linux box. I have my usb tuner plugged in, but don’t know how to get it identified in PMS.
Just like icedtrip , I’m headless

It was driving me crazy that I couldn’t get my USB WinTv Dual HD Tv Tuner to work then I read your post and bam it was detected and worked. Thanks for this.

I’ve always had mine on the Plex Pass channel and still don’t get anything. Even switched it over to public, saved, and back to Plex Pass and saved.
Similar situation, same symptoms and identical screen shots to kireol, and i’m running 1.7.2.3878, although I’m not using an officially supported tuner so i’m not holding my breath but the screen looks different to the one in the video at the bottom of this page at 50s https://www.plex.tv/features/live-tv-dvr/
Just thought of this. Since the Live TV support and Expanded Tuner support was just announced today ( https://www.plex.tv/blog/well-do-it-live/ ), maybe the most recent PMS download (dated 5/26/17) doesn’t have this support and a new build is coming out later today?

Good thought. That may be. Or there’s just a lot of bugs to work out.
I just wished someone who has it working would create a video so I can see if I’m doing it right. Or a set of instructions. Or if a plex employee would chime in. or a log. or anything! lol

Well, thanks for pointing out that log file. What makes you think that you need a new adapter in that?

I couldnt find plex, so I “viewed source” in my browser and in the HTML is the plex stuff, commented out. So, good find and thanks! Weird how you saw it and I have to view the html to read it because it’s commented out.
It was just reenabled, so your browser probably had a cached copy of the old site.

I thought I might need a compatible one because it was being picked up in the log but nothing was showing in Plex Web

I’ve also run this over ssh. “curl http://127.0.0.1:32600/devices/discover”
And produces the following, which looks like something has identified a tuner!
