I would prefer not to have my lossy music transcoded again. My music library is a mix of FLAC, ALAC, MP3 and AAC files. In my perfect world, I would have an option that will NOT transcode the MP3s/AAC and only transcode the the FLAC/ALAC files.
Set the “Music quality” to 320 kbps.
Set “Advanced > Conversion Bitrate” to whatever bandwidth you want for those files which need to be converted.
This should achieve what you’re after.
There is very rarely a lossy compressed file with more than 320 kbps.
