Have to open PLEX Player on my mac for PLEX Apple TV to see files

I have PLEX server on a mac mini set to not go to sleep.
The libraries are on a RAID
My Apple TV is connected through a LAN.

When I access PLEX on Apple TV, it does not see the libraries unless i go to my mac mini and open the Plex player.

Hopefully I’m missing something simple.

From what you have described it sounds like your PMS on your Mac Mini is not running the whole time. Your Mac Mini needs to be on AND your PMS needs to be running in order to be able to watch content. What you’re describing as opening the Plex player, is probably actually you starting your PMS (which IIRC also opens a webpage to your Plex homepage).
