Running Windows 10, Plex native. Dual x5690s, Quadro P2000, 48GB of Ram. Plex pass user and HW acceleration is on.
Let me start by saying I know I shouldn’t transcode 4k. And I know you lose HDR. I just like figuring these issues out.
When using Plex for transcoding 1080p it works well. It uses my P2000 for encode and decode. GPU usage is like 35% for both. CPU is about 60%.
When using Plex for transcoding 4K(H.265), CPU drops to about 10%, Encode stays around 30% and decode drops to like 2%. Then it wont play fast. Transcodes at like .4 What is going on here? What wont it use my cpu or gpu for transcoding 4k?
To add to this Emby works beautifully on both 1080p and 4K. It uses both my CPU and GPU as expected.
