Headless Player : Bit perfect

Like many people, i use plexamp with headless Raspberry PI configuration (with Allo Digione DAC).

First, there is the log :

As you can see, sample rate is forced 44,1k (and 16bit i suppose).

But many of my flac files are 24/48 or 24/96, is it possible to keep the initial sample rate and entrust the treatment to the dac in perfect bit mode ?

Better support for this sort of thing is on our future list for sure!

An another easy way is to implement “Push to DLNA renderer” ou implement Search in Dlna Plex server :stuck_out_tongue:

Super curious where this project stands. Are we looking at a new beta or 1.0 release any time soon, perhaps with a ready-baked image?

Is that something we might see in the near future on any platforms? I use pa on Mac and RPI and I love it as a casting destination - the combo is better than any of the others I’ve used, but bitperfect to my dac would be so nice.

Is this a project anyone can contribute to? I’d love to help.

Dunno about “near” (don’t like to set expectations improperly), but it’s basically the next bigger push for the player layer.

It would be awesome to have some kind of confirmation of bit-perfect/direct play in the app (like roon’s signal path view).
