shouldn't this topic be raised initially in the PlexConnect forum https://forums.plex.tv/forum/136-appletv-plexconnect/ ?
you can get it moved by clicking the Report button and asking forum admin to move it and may be also amend your subject of the post to summarise your reply. You can ask that in the message you send to forum admin
A bit difficult to investigate a Plex Media Server problem from a PlexConnect log file
Sorry newb post, would report it but cant even find the report button!
Hover your mouse to the left of the MultiQuote button at the bottom right of your first post
Actually putting this text in a google search will return many PlexConnect hits :
site:forums.plex.tv trailers unavailable
That isn’t a log, please read the sticky for info required to troubleshoot the issue.
ATV3
192.168.2.10 is the dns on atv
pc running plex is on 192.168.2.10
Laptop running Vista home premium
The Plex media server 0.9.9.7.429-f80a8d6:
The PlexConnect 0.3.1+
Python 2.7.6
It is missing requested info and there is no log attached.

We have a new user with first post here. I actually looked at the FAQ and linked info
Going here first Read First Before Posting
and this takes you to How to Report an Issue
Which then says
Ensure you post your 'PlexConnect.log' file to pastebin and post the link ('PlexConnect.log' is located in your PlexConnect folder).
But it does not give the path for the PlexConnect folder
Is the location well known by every user? If it is, may be the user just did not know what you were referring to. Some terms like 'read the sticky' may not very obvious to everyone
The multi-linked info - from forum to post to another location etc,.... could be overwhelming
It is in the folder that contains the application (this is wherever the user put it as there is no installer). The error message is very generic and we ask people to fill out a template that usually allows diagnosis of the problem very quickly. The template has a lot more info than shown above. Whilst I am not trying to be rude and we spend a lot of time helping end users diagnose problems it takes a short amount of time for them to fill this in once compared to regular users on here teasing out the information piece by piece (multiply that by hundreds of times) when internet forum etiquette expects people to read the stickies, especially when it is titled “read before posting” (admittedly people miss this and that is why I asked the user to read it and provide the info - if they do not understand anything we are quite happy to answer any questions).
Appreciate your patience guys, had been using plex with no issues for the last 12 months. Apologies i did not scroll to the bottom of the page and see the log file bit. Hopefully I have everything now?
Log file is here;
Thanks again!
Did you set an OUTGOING rule fir Python.exe in your firewall?
I did and double checked tonight it is still valid
I would try deleting the cert profile from your ATV and the certs from the PlexConnect folder and recreating and installing them.
I have the same issue in a Mac Mini and firewall is off. Does the firewall tweak applies also for Mac?
same problem here on my atv.

"Trailers unavailable" is a generic error, you have the same generic error symptoms only.same problem here on my atv.

I postes all Infos in the other Thread…
Mine was resolved by deleting Plex connect, Python, reinstalling and then creating new certificates. Not sure what the issue was but at least it is working now!
hmm, ok i'll try this too
