Help when restarting computer lost server

Hey guys I’m on windows version and whenever I restart my computer ever since I started Plex a long time ago my server disappears the only way I’ve found to get it back is to remove it in account settings then re install another copy but this has gotten annoying is there a way to make it not drop whenever my computer restarts? Also go easy on me with technical terms and a step by step format would help me the most, thanks guys you all rock

  • Are you using several Windows user accounts on your computer?
  • Do you use 3rd-party tools to remove usage traces from your computer? (these tools usually advertise better privacy and data protection)
  • is your web browser set to delete all cookies after it is closed? (most are nowadays)
  • After a reboot, is the Plex icon visible in the task tray area?
    taskbar_icon_win10

No to all of those except the last one I do see it in the tray when it happens, it’s just all my libraries are missing and they have the yellow triangle with the exclamation point next to them

How fast after starting it up are you hitting the icon? It will take a while before it is ready to use.

Which web browser are you using?

Is there a Torrent client software on the same computer?

I’m using Google chrome
I usually go right into it I’ve let it sit for a few hours before and nothing changed I have torrent software but it’s never been used and has only recently been downloaded maybe a little while I usually use my phone for all that, this issue has been going on since the first day I downloaded it so a looong time before having torrent stuff

Have you ever started the Plex server software with “As Administrator…”?
(DON’T try it if you haven’t yet!)

Are you using some 3rd-party tool to run it as a system service?

Are you regularly triggering to go back to a “system restore point”?

No to all of those ones

And I assume you don’t re-create the Windows user account rather frequently as well?

Have you ever enabled the advanced security features of Windows, like core isolation or virtualization?

Nope I’ve never touched them I don’t really touch any core windows at all the most I do there is just regular updates
