High bitrate EAC3 audio stutters if transcoded by Linux PMS

May I have a sufficiently sized sample to “experience” the synesthesia of pain when I read the logs and listen to the sample?

I couldn’t upload the file directly to the forum, so hopefully this link works out okay.

As a note it does work fine for me in VLC and MPC-HC.

And thank you for your support and patience.

Thank you for the file.

My ears are still bleeding :stuck_out_tongue:

Bug report submitted.

It’s actually chopping.
I suspect the Dolby MAT Frame size is too small.

(Ran into this with Nvidia)

Sorry if this off topic here… but does the newest beta ( 1.32.2.7002) also include the updated Intel Media Driver?

  • (Transcoder) Added HDR tone mapping support for Intel Arctic Sound-M and Meteor Lake GPUs (#14281)
  • (Transcoder) Improved hardware transcode stability when using Intel GPUs on Linux (#14281)

Version 1.32.2.7100 did not solve this issue.

I have too problems with eac3 audio.
Using plex media server on synology nas and player on nvidia shield, my configuration need passtrouth optic and with this i can’t read any mocie or episode with eac3.
Few times ago I do not have problems with this, but lastest beta and lastest “normal” build on android tv won’t work now…
The only thing I can do to play this file is to use hdmi passtrouth but with this I don’t have 5.1 sound on my configuration…

Seems the problem is really well know now from plex and nobody want to solve this…

The shield tv can handle tbe audio transcode (kodi made it cery well) so please plex team let us use it like it and keep the most of our plex server and plex pass!!!

Have we given up on this? This is still a really frustrating issue in version 1.32.5.7210

Yeah this is so embarassing, they pretended to release a bugfix version a couple of times and then went back into silence for months

Version 1.32.5.7328 did not solve this issue.

One year and 5 days, and we still can’t play our movies because of a stupid bug that no one wants to fix. Can you at least be honest with us? Is this ever gonna be fixed in this life or not?

Version 1.32.5.7349 did not solve this issue.

Just adding to the fire here and mentioning that I am seeing the same thing. It only happens on a Remote network though.

Hello guys, Same here. If I can help please let me know !

Version 1.32.6.7468 did not solve this issue.

I get this, even when streaming locally. Any time it tries to transcode the audio it becomes horribly stuttery.

yeah the problem still exists
