This is a question on media management. I’ve created clips using FCP to output to MP4 files for my personal home movies. I then do metadata editing to put in categories, dates, and descriptions into my files. I then move the files to a my shared folder, and plex picks them up and puts them in my category under home movies. However, nothing in the descriptions shows up. I don’t want to have to go into plex itself, and edit every single video because if I ever had to ‘reset’ the plex database, I would have to put in those descriptions all over again.
Any suggestions as to how to get plex server to read the meta data that’s in the MP4’s? Thanks
