I’ve read the posts on this site and renamed files accordingly, e.g.
Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 01
Curb Your Enthusiasm - S01E02 - Ted and Mary
Plex displays it as “BBC Comedy” and the visual display is from a Rick and Morty episode
I’ve deleted the folders reloaded them after fixing the naming convention to no avail
Please help.
Thanks,
Rob
Not sure you have the folder/file structure right. A working example:
TV Shows (folder)
Curb Your Enthusiasm (folder)
Season 01 (folder)
Curb Your Enthusiasm - S01E02 - Ted and Mary (file)
Another Show (folder)
Season 02 (folder)
Another Show - S01E15 - Title (file)
Your TV library should point to the top level TV Shows folder, not the “Show” folders or “Season” folders. The TV shows folder will have folders for each show. The Show folders will have season folders, and inside the season folder you should have the episodes for that season.
If you files are MP4 files, make go to Settings – Server-- Agents – and go through all of the tabs in both Shows and Movies and anyplace you find “Local Media Assets” grab with your mouse and drag to the bottom of the list. Sometimes mp4 and m4v files contain information that is incorrect. Placing Local Media Assets at the bottom of the list makes Plex use the downloaded information.
If you’re just starting out building your library, I would delete it and start over once you have the folder/file structure set up, and Local Media Assets moved down the list in the agents settings.
