Hi Everyone.
I hope someone can help me.
My PLEX server is in QNAP NAS(TAS-268).
I want to watch a PLEX through the projector on the ceiling, which unfortunately doesn’t have a rotate display mode, so everything is upside now.
What client do you use to feed the Plex content to your projector?
If you’re running Plex Media Player on a Windows/Linux/Mac system connected to the projector, you might be able to tune the graphics/video configuration of that machine’s Operating System
I’m not sure but I think it’s QTS 4.3.3 (embedded Linux).
Because I’m running Plex Media Player on a QNAP NAS system.
How can I figure it out to tune the graphics/video configuration?
Thank you for help!
Sorry… I’m not a QNAP expert. From what I found (didn’t find) via Google, I believe the system itself doesn’t allow simply rotating the picture.
So if your projector really doesn’t allow rotating the picture when mounted to the ceiling – you might need to look for a device to plug in between the NAS and projector to handle this
If your projector doesn’t have a rotate function, I would suggest re-mounting your projector the right side up. Plex doesn’t have the ability to rotate the image. Even if it did, that would only help if Plex is the only app you ever use. The projector’s menu and everything would still be upside down.
In that case the OS in question is the iPad’s iOS which does not support this kind of screen rotation. Hence your only reasonable way to approach this appears to be to re-mount the projector as explained by MovieFan.Plex.
Silly follow-up question… what exact projector are we talking about (vendor/make and model)?
Yeah, I’m thinking about change my projector to another one. Because re-mounting it right side-up is more difficult than re-purchace.
Thank you for advice!
Right…
It’s just small business company(visiontek) from Korea.
Actually I used it for 2-3 years already.
It was good and I liked it. But now I have to change my projector to another one.
Thanks a lot!
I’ve just checked out some of those VisionTek projectors… It appears at least their 2018 models all support what they call “flipping” the output. Maybe you can double-check the projector’s on-screen settings before going for a new one
I’m so sorry too late reply. And thank you for your kindness.
Unfortunately MY Visiontek is Korean domestic company not like which you checked out and its model does not support ‘flipping’ function.
Now I just decide to change the projector. It’s time to upgrade also.
Thanks.
