PLEX Server to Plex Player HDMI Support

I have a QNAP HS264 which supports HDMI out and an LG TV with HDMI in.

Presently I have to serve from PLEX Serveron the QNAP to the Plex Player on LG either over ethernet or over a Google Chromecast.

Would be great to be able to use that HDMI link from the PLex Server on the QNAP to the Plex Player on the LG TV.

This means you’ll need a Plex player software on the QNAP – apparently there used to be an old fork of the old Plex Home Theatre app that did just that… but it’s seems to be no longer available.

Using an actual Plex app on a the TV or a streaming box should handle this much smoother.

How to play Plex movies through QNAP HDMI

Starting a new thread for my new question: I have a QNAP TS-451x which I purchased for this use case: Copy movies from my primary storage to this NAS and use it as a media server at a 2nd home.
