How do I add the plex it button to my toolbar

I'm very new and trying to figure things out so bear with me.  I did manage to get the "plex it" button added to chrome but lost it. Now, I can't find how i did this! I've googled the problem and continually get directed to pages that don't exist. Please help me understand how to add this button. Also, just as an aside, this is the only forum that I saw anyway to even post a question!!!! THANKS

Plexit wont show up as any icon just a blank piece of paper icon. You may want to check to see if its been added to the very last of your bookmark list, you should be able to search for it from the bookmark manager.

Search the Support pages from http://plex.tv theres a lot of docs on it there, you should simply need to drag the shortcut to the bookmark bar. You may need to change some settings to actually get the linking to work and theres pages for that to explain as well.

I am having similar problem.  The button is on the bookmark bar and I tried to add a youtube video.  Only thing is that nothing happened when I tried.  Usually there was always something that appeared on the left of the video and it would say that it had been added.  But now nothing.

Also do not know if this is the right place to post as this was the only thing on forum that related to plexit.

Just tried it again by going directly to youtube and it works.  Just wondering why it didn't for the one I watched from a link on Facebook?

In my browser, I launched Plex and went to the 'Watch Later' queue. I clicked the little question mark next to Watch Later and found the Plex It button there - dragged to bookmarks and looks like I'm good to go.

After seeing lots of vague and incomplete answers - here is what worked for me on chrome:

  1. If you don't have a plex.tv login - get one:
    https://plex.tv/
  2. Login
  3. Create a Plex It bookmark Method #1
    1. Go Here http://plex.tv/web/app#!/playlist/queue/help
    2. Drag button to your boormark bar
  4. Create a Plex It bookmark Method #2
    1. Create a new Bookmark link in the chrome bookmark manager with the following code in it:
    2. javascript: var s=document.createElement("script");s.type="text/javascript";s.src="//plex.tv/queue/bookmarklet_payload";var h=document.getElementsByTagName("head")[0];h.appendChild(s);void(0);

Here is how to queue a video for later viewing:

  1. Go to a page (maybe YouTube that has a video and hit the bookmark button
It asks you to sign in if you have not already done so
  2. Wait till the operation is complete.
  3. To view, either use the plex viewer On your PC or on Roku or similar TV app and locate video on the queue
I believe you have to have PLex server installed on a network pc as well as Plex PC viewer (If you want to use that)

There is a similar method that appends to the queue using email:

Thanks Hellzen, someone who understands sense here.!! Because of your post I was able to sort it out… Think you need a job writing instructions for PLEX because they are sure not up to it…

need instructions to add plex it bookmark to my new pc windows 10, I already have plex on my roku, need to stream music to plex, had it on my old pc, have the media server, I tried to drag the bookmark to pc would not stay what i’m missing been trying for a few days also my videos on launch will not open on plex on roku they do… need help!!!

You can’t use the Plex It! button with Edge. Edge doesn’t support ‘bookmarklets’.
Install Chrome (or start Internet Explorer) and try again.

Same issue but Windows 10 and Firefox. Icon will not attach to toolbar.

Some browsers don’t display their bookmark bar permanently now.
And / or they don’t support creating bookmarks by drag’n drop any more.

In this case you need to create the bookmark manually:

Make your bookmark bar permanently visible
(Chrome: Settings - Appearance - Show bookmarks bar = ON
Firefox: right-click on a grey area in the menu area - “Bookmark toolbar” = TICK)

  1. In the web app, go to ‘Watch Later’ (left screen side, far down)
  2. click on the question mark

  1. on the following screen, make a right-click on the orange ‘Plex It!’ button
    and ‘Copy link address’

  1. create a new bookmark and use the address you copied into the clipboard in step 3)
(the bookmark cannot be created on the desktop or in external bookmark collections, because it is not a bookmark per se but a line in Javascript, a so-called ‘Bookmarklet’)
