Most of it is described here: forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1378615/#Comment_1378615
Is plex going to more and more hosted? where users are unable to host their own?

If you read the announcement https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/46075/plex-web#latest , you will find it will be the new bundled app as well. It simply was deployed to Plex.tv first.

I did see that, but my question stands,

but my question stands,
Why, did you not like the simple answer to it that was provided?
The version hosted at Plex.tv/web has been ahead of the local/bundled version multiple times before. The release cycles of the web interface and PMS aren’t always in sync. But as stated already, the bundled version will be updated on the next server release.
Since we can no longer “reset” the Web Client bundles like we used to be able to, when the Web App is updated we are SOL for those updates locally until updating the PMS version. One of my biggest gripes with not being able to reset the bundles. Added functionality is announced and you can’t access that functionality locally until a new version is pushed. And then only if you aren’t running a Beta of some sort that prevents you from using the main Pass version, such as HW Transcoding or DVR (before it was released in 1.4.2)
Been this way for a while now… I have a Feature Request in my signature I created about it…

I am just afraid that one day, Plex will ask everyone to get some cloudhosting and not be able to host plex them self.
If I may take off my Plex hat a moment?
Should I ever hear such discussions, I would be spouting off loud and hard against it (and I think you all know how ‘convincing’ I can be >:) )
It’s our media, not ‘cloud’ media. I live in an area where internet and cable are unreliable. That’s why I have Plex. I can record OTA to watch later or play anything i’ve converted myself.
