How Do I make Plex recognize a special that theTVDB.com shows in its Dbase

I added the Dresden files to my Plex. All of the 12 episodes, name correctly as per plex, show. There was a short Behind the Scenes documentary called The Dresden Files - inside the Dresden files.mkv. I named it The Dresden Files - inside the Dresden files.mkv, and it is in the same folder as the episodes. Plex doesn’t even list it in the interface. I know I can place it in Home Media, but I would like to have it in the Dresden folder. I want to do this with other things like the Matrix features and the Lord of the Rings additional features.

Specials on TVDB are usually listed as season 0. I checked TVDB for the show you mentioned and it’s the same. Are you not putting season number and episode numbers in the titles of your files?

If anything, the show should be named: The Dresden Files - S00E02.

You are a genius! I used the sxxexx for the episodes, but did not know about season00. I will read the link. I assume this works for all shows, if there are special features or documentaries.

Would you happen to have the link for how to do this with special features for movies, like Matrix, Blade or others?

Handling of movie specials is very different.

To have special features alongside your movies you need to enable local metadata in your movie library then place the special features in folders alongside the movie, if they are in the correct folders they will show up.

So it should be, for example:

Folder:

The matrix (1999)

Files inside the matrix folder:

The matrix (1999).mkv

Folder: Featurettes

Files inside featurettes folder:

The making of the matrix.mkv

And also yes you need to use season 0 for specials.

You should place your specials in a folder called specials within the show folder alongside the season folders.

You can also use the folder name Specials if you like that better.
