I put a bunch of speicals in a "specials" folder but they don't update properly

Solved: I just renamed them to s00e101, s00e102…s00e304…s00e1001, etc and plex just added the titles like I wanted

Server Version#:4.63

I recently ripped a bluray collection and there was a bunch of special features that don’t show up on TVDB. There are 3 that are listed on TVDB but I named all the files 101, 102…506…1010, etc (season##special##). I was hoping plex would just grab the titles and just put everything in the specials season but it put everything in season 1. Would it be possible to have everything in the specials folder organized by season even though it’s not the TVDB?

It is… though you should follow Plex’ naming schema – e.g.

TV Shows <- the folder linked to your tv-show library
  Show Name
    Specials
      Show Name - s00eXX - episode name.ext

Where XX is the special #, .ext is a placeholder for the file extension. The episode title in file names is completely optional and will be ignored by Plex (can be helpful to identify your files in your regular file manager).

I know the naming conventions, the issue is there is a handful of s00e## on TVDB and they don’t line up with the other specials that are not on TVDB, For example s00e10 on TVDB is a comicon panel for Season 10 but in the specials folder s00e10 would be a behind the scenes bit

What agent are you using for this library? Keep in mind the Plex TV Series agent will default to the episode ordering of TMDb — except you specifically configure your library or a particular show to prefer an episode ordering from TVDb!
