I have the silliest little bug. While adding movies to a collection, and changing the default posters for those movies, the collection poster became stuck using the prior art for the movie, and nothing I seem to do will fix it. When I edit the collection it shows the correct poster, but when I save, it continues to display the wrong poster.
The problem happened using app.plex.tv (administering from another computer), though the issue is visible and the Save button doesn’t fix the issue on localhost:3100 on the server itself.
The server is 1.12.3.4973 on Mac OS X High Sierra.
ok. I have been trying to reproduce but it is working correctly for me. as soon as I hit save it updates the poster.
I know it is not optimal but if you add some other random poster to the collection itself by hitting choose image then change it back to the default one with 4 tiles does it update?
I’ve changed the posters for all 3 movies in the collection, but the collection poster seems to still be stuck. I know the collection poster should update automatically after I change the poster for a movie in the collection, but it isn’t doing that… here’s a new picture.
@tom80H, it appears that I misunderstood @BigWheel 's instructions. I thought I was following them, but upon reading them again, I see my mistake - I missed the word “itself”.
Yes, that resolved the issue. As soon as I added an alternative poster to the collection itself, the default collection poster updated to match the posters currently selected.
Updating the default collection poster by changing the posters within the collection is still stuck, but when I open up the images for the collection itself, just having an alternative image there seems to cause it to figure out it needs to update.
Shouldn’t Plex update the default poster if the movie is found within a collection and the composite poster is used with that collection? I am having to go through an update all my collections to get the correct poster? Seems like an oversight in the implementation of collections rather than a bug.
This may be time-consuming for collections with a large number, but what I ended up doing was deleting the collection, updating the poster(s) that I wanted to change, then re-making the collection.
