How do I setup one poster to multiple home videos?

This may have been already answered but I did not see anything myself. Maybe I did not look at the articles or other community questions hard enough but I am just trying to figure out if there is a way to setup one poster on multiple home videos in multiple home video libraries. I want to do this without doing it to each video manually using the edit button and choosing poster. If anyone can assist me with this it would be much appreciated, thanks!

P.S. I made multiple home video libraries and made my own poster art with a picture from that year and then adding what year it is to that picture.I want to do this so I know which year I am looking at on my home video libraries.

Use the same poster. Just make copies of the picture and name it to the home movie name.
Example…
Home Movie #01.mkv
Home Movie #01.jpg
Home Movie #02.mkv
Home Movie #02.jpg
Home Movie #03.mkv
Home Movie #03.jpg
Home Movie #04.mkv
Home Movie #04.jpg
Home Movie #05.mkv
Home Movie #05.jpg

I guess I was looking for a more automatic way of doing it with one jpg file and then apply it to all the videos. Or maybe do it within plex for each library where I can edit all the videos posters at once. I am assuming that may not possible with your response?

Edit: Basically I don’t want to have to do the work of editing each video in plex by clicking the edit button for each video and then adding the poster or have to copy the original poster 20-30 times while also changing the name appropriately to each video in particular to each video name so it shows that poster for each video. That just seems like a lot of work to me that would be easily rectified by having an option to change the poster for the entire library or name it poster.jpg and plex apply it to all the videos in that homes video folder on my NAS. Is there no way to do this at all?

That will only work for library type SHOWS. Not so much with MOVIES/HOME VIDEOS.

But maybe I’m wrong.
Take a look here.

This may apply to HOME VIDEOS aswell.

The new “Collections” feature may be what you’re looking for …

some information here:

I don’t have a lot of home videos, and they are all in one library. But once the videos are tagged as part of a collection, they show up in the web app as a group of videos with one poster I can assign an image to. When you open the collection item, they don’t have the assigned poster, but a thumbnail from the video itself.

EDIT: collections don’t display properly in all apps yet, but we’re hoping it eventually finds it’s way to all of them.

I’ll add this for anyone who is interested in creating a “master” poster for a home movie library(or any library for that matter).
