How do I stop Plex from deleting empty folders on my computer?

Say I have a library in Plex called Library. Inside is a folder called Folder. Inside that folder are two videos- Video1 and Video2. I use my ipad to watch these videos. I delete Video2 in my ipad Plex app, which deletes it from my computer as well. The Folder still exists on my computer with Video1 in it. So far so good.

Now I watch Video1 and delete it using my Plex app. If I now open the top level folder Library on my computer, it should have the Folder in it and Folder should be empty. But it’s not. folder is also deleted. This happens every time I delete the last video in a folder. Plex deletes the video and the now-empty folder. How do I turn this behavior off. I want the empty folder to remain on my computer.

Server Version#: don’t know where to find this
Player Version#:8.24 (iOS)

I believe this behavior was implemented several years ago in response to user requests. I don’t know of any way to turn it off.

It’s my understanding that Plex won’t delete the folder if it isn’t empty. So you could try putting a file in the folder, anything, like a .txt file. Plex won’t do anything with the file, but it should prevent Plex from deleting the folder when the last video file is deleted.

Gotcha. I didn’t think to put a random txt file to prevent folder deletion. Thanks for the idea
