How do we organize fan collections (episodes from multiple tv shows)

I have several Star Trek Fan Collections. One of them is Star Trek Fan Collective - Borg. Essentially it is the best episodes from all the TV shows that included The Borg. I cannot find these collections in TheMovieDB nor TheTVDB. SO I am wondering how should I tage these episodes such that they are listed under the Collection? I dont want to create a collection for each of the TV shows as that defeats the purpose of the collection.

You could manually assign them to a playlist.
There’s no automatic way for Plex to tag them (e.g. for smart playlists) or to have episodes grouped to collections.

Maybe there’s a 3rd party agent that will deal with those (there’s e.g. one that creates playlists for movies winning certain awards) – but there’s none I’m aware of for fan collections / lists.

I have grouped some of the Ghost in the Shell episodes to get the the subset of the Laughing Man and Individual Eleven story arcs as subsets of the full seasons/show.

This is absolutely what I do, too. It’s the best option available in Plex for this purpose. You can even set the episode order properly, and it can cross between episodes and movies.
