How does one rollback a version of Plex Media Server

Is it as simple as going to the user/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Updates/[version number]/ then using the ‘updater’ file, or going into the /packages/ sub folder and using that zip file? Please help, need to roll back from 1.7.3 to 1.7.2 as transcoder is broken and crashes my server every time.

you find your updates under C:\Users\your user\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Updates and chose from there, at least that how i downgrade from 1.7.x to 1.4.x

I’m having the same issue on Version 1.7.3.3937. I was working fine until this update. Now when i go back to my pc, i have a ton of “plex media transcoder is not responding” messages. It was never an issue before. I looked in my path (given by seven_ above) and I have literally nothing in the path. I get to the plex media server folder, then it’s blank. At least on my setup. That said, I have changed the default path for install so I checked that path and was able to locate the previous versions. I’m hesitant to downgrade but I’m going to see what happens. Update: tried to run a previous version but stated that the product is already installed and wouldn’t downgrade it. I’m not really wanting to uninstall it and risk losing my data so I guess I’ll just have to wait until the developers fix this issue. sigh

You uninstall the current version and install the older version. Plex doesn’t make them readily available anymore however, but I did see a post that explains how to grab it from a direct plex.tv link. Pretty sure it involves just replacing the current filename with the older one. For example, Plex-Media-Server-1.7.3.3937-70f781325.exe is the current one, Plex-Media-Server-1.7.2.3878-8088811b8.exe is the previous one.
