I don’t know what so say anymore. I lost many hours trying to get plex to name the damn episodes correctly. I added the series to tmdb myself and after plex got the meta data I realised I messed up a little. So I corrected the info on tmdb, but now plex won’t get the new data. I did the stupid plex dance, unmatched the series and rematched it again, removed the specials, removed the files from my server and moved them back on again, but nothing helped.
What does the button “refresh metadata” even do? It obviously doesn’t refresh anything.
The problem is that posters are missing and the episodes of season 1 and 3 are in the wrong order. Posters are on tmdb and the order is correct there, too, but plex does not seem to care about it
I think I read someplace that Plex uses “proxy” servers (I think that is the term) for most of the web sites they scrape data from. So even though the real website shows they proper info, the information might not be updated for several hours or days, depending on the schedule used to update the information.
If that’s the case, you might have to be patient and wait for the “alternate” or “proxy” serer to be updated.

Hi – the problem could be as simple as the API of TheMovieDb.org not accessing its underlying database in real-time. They get millions of requests and have to optimize how they handle those.
From my experience it can take up to 24 hours (slightly more in exceptions) for updates made to their db to tickle down to the API where it’ll also be available to Plex.
Beyond that… your naming and settings appear to be ok. Just give it a moment.
PS: is there a particular reason why you organized “Wissen vor 8” by topics instead of date/year based seasons? dvd organization isn’t necessarily a good organization overall (just my 2ct)
well… keep in mind it’s a community based database, so if somebody wants them organized by actual air date etc. they will be able to do that and mess up your library that way.
did the show match in the first place?
if not, you might need to perform the infamous “Plex Dance” or to manually perform the match (on the show level: Fix Match).
I did the plex dance and i also unmatched the show and matched it again. When matching it , there is only one search result and after I chose it, the old wrong meta data is back again
can you confirm this particular show is still matched against TheMovieDb.org and not TheTVDb.com? Sometimes, Plex falls back to the library standard when doing a fix-match. As the show is organized by year (e.g. season 2014 instead of season 3), this could explain why you don’t get any metadata for the alternative approach you uploaded to TheMovieDb.org
