How to backup the library content for Raid change?

Hi

Just a question:
How can I backup the content of my libraries? I know, its easy the rescan but
1.) I dont want to loose the “what I have already watched” (e.g. in Series)
2.) Some movies have manual uploaded posters and descriptions

I need to change my NAS Raid. So Im copying the whole content back later (same paths), but I dont want to loose my Plex library configuration

Or can I shut down ONLY the plex server in my NAS and start it after I finished with my new RAID?

  1. Create a shared folder, named EXACTLY, PlexData (case sensitive)
  2. Restart PMS, wait one minute, then stop PMS
  3. Open FileStation
  4. Navigate to PlexData
  5. See “Plex Media Server”
  6. Click into the folder
  7. Now highlight everything you see , Right-Click → add to ZIP file
( Be careful of the ZIP file name )

When it’s done, copy/move/save that ZIP file somewhere. It is the entirety of your PMS installation.
