? I added folders of photos by year as you can see. I’d like to be able to put all those years in one main folder called something like “Jon’s Photos 1963-1999”
Is it possible to do that once the media library is made, or would I have to start all over with the media organized before hand. Just below 1994 in my photo is what I would like to do. I.E. when I click on Jon Skool report cards, all those are shown. Does this make sense?
Create each year as a collection in one library, Title each with “Photo’s 1994” for Example and so on. You can even create a Poster to suit your Photo year, that could be custom or a Photo from that year.

How to: Create in your Content Directory as a new Folder “Photo year”, Sub folder " The title of Collection", within sub folder add your content.
Example:
Photo’s 1999 ( Folder)
/ Starting School (sub Folder) / your photos
/ New home (sub Folder) / your photos
/ Class mates (sub Folder / your photos
/ Holiday (sub Folder) / your photos
and so on
Create a poster for your photo Year and add to library Edit.
For the next year repeat the same process, when finished add all Year folders to One Library that will appear in Plex left menu named " photo’s for example.
Now it’s all in one place, one Library. All the years of Photo’s will be a separate collection and when opening will appear as sub content. View In Library view or Timeline view.
Thank you so much for that! Because I’m old and dumb, I will have to read and re-read to make sure I got this. Can I move my already existing “imports” in Plex to that new folder? Or do I have to re-import?
Set up your storage directory first as shown and re-import/link to a Library. You can add endless number of folders and also remove. Plex will arrange your photo Collections Alphabetically and numerically .
For creating a poster for each Year collection, in the blank/Black Poster bottom left click on the edit tool/Pencil. Then go to poster, here you can add you custom poster by drop and drag.
I had a major break through in my understanding how this works! What I will describe is probably exactly what you are saying but in a different way. But Either way success!
Create a new library in plex. I’ll call mine Test Library.
I chose to do a Photo library re-nmaed to Test Library. I then Added a Folder, and browsed for the folder of images I wanted to be in the Test Library.
From here, this is what confused me. I didn’t realize to add more “folders” of images, I needed to click browse for media AGAIN. Find folder, and click ADD. Then this:
After all that, click the Add Library and all four of those selected “Folders” are now consolidated to one Library, for me Test Library. Really Happy! It is also worth noting you can delete folder in a Library by clicking the "X"to the right of the folder path. Or keep adding more! I can’t believe how long it took me to figure this out!!!
