I just want to see which movies that are less than 1080p, sadly I cannot search for “not equal to resolution 1080P” this search argument is not allowed. And when I try to simply select SD or 480p or 576p I get 1080p movies returned in the search because sometimes I ripped the HD version but did not delete a high quality rip from a DVD. So I figured that I would dump out a copy of all movies via tab-delimited or CSV text and sort this out in a spreadsheet but it seems there is no way to export my movie list with a resolution column for each movie. Any thoughts about how to resolve this issue? Thanks!
I think you can use a sqlite browser or create a script using Media Info cli.
Here you go
Thanks Tom, I saw that from 2017 and I thought they were stopping development since Plex was doing away with Plugins or some such… Too bad there is not a native way to export a list.
Thanks again.

ExportTools is currently the best way to get the info you want.
The developers of it, are working on a new solution to replace it, but it’s still in a very early Alpha stage though
Hi Robert,
Here’s steps by which can export your collection to a text or CSV file:
- Click: File > Export to > Text
- In the Export to Text screen, you can select the Sort Order or use the Main Screen setting. You can also select the movies you want to export.
- Name your file and give it a location using the Browse button.
- Click the Export button to export
@adamsmith230 thanks for your response, but “Plex Media Player” on the Mac does not show a File menu. Also, the web client opened on the PMS machine (Safari in this case) also fails to show a File menu related to Plex.
The solution was to use ExportTools, thanks Tom & Dane.
