How to get beta update through docker?

Server Version#: 1.32.3.7192

Hello Guys!

i am using the linuxserver.io image of plex media server and wanted to go to the beta channel because as far as i know that’s the only way i can enable Guest DJs on my plexamp (am i even correct here?).

Now my plex server says that an update is available; If i click on manual installation i can see the image version should be 1.32.4.7195 (on my server it’s 1.32.3.7192). My docker-compose uses :latest as image version and manually defining the new version does not work.

Any idea how i can get beta channel updates now? I want to stay on the linuxserver.io version because that worked the best with my NVidia GPU for hardware acceleration.

Thanks guys!

Have you set the Version environment variable for this and is the server logged in with a PlexPass account ID?

VERSION=latest

My docker-compose uses :latest as image version

You mean this by VERSION=latest ?

I got my logs but don’t know where exactly i could find if it’s logged with a plexpass account id.

Using image: lscr.io/linuxserver/plex:latest is not the same thing as the needed environment variable.

Suggest you read the image documentation @ https://hub.docker.com/r/linuxserver/plex particularly the Application Setup section.

You see, i thought they meant with that what to write after the colon for the image.

My environment variable was set to docker. At “latest” it now got the newest beta version automatically.

Thank you very much and have a nice weekend!
