How To Give Individual Songs Their Correct Years in Compilations?

OK, so I have several compilation albums, and they only appear as the year of the compilation release. I’d love the ability to edit the year for each track so, for example, ‘Johnny B. Goode’ could show 1958 instead of the year of compilation release. I fell in love with PlexAmp, and would love to use the various built-in radio channels, but they won’t work as well w/o proper labeling (i.e., ‘Johnny B. Goode’ won’t be played in '50s Radio, but instead in '00 Radio).

Server Version: 1.19.3.2764
Plex Web: 4.30.2

It’s unfortunately not possible. Plex only stores the release date by album, not by song.

That’s a major bummer. Seems like it would be something Plex could handle, as I know all Tagging software allows it.

Major strike against Plex Music Player. Especially with functionalities built atop the Release Year data. IDK why Plex would want functionalities to look broken, when it’s just from bad data.

Agree, a bummer. I was wanting to sort songs by year. What’s interesting is some songs have the year while others don’t. I haven’t been able to determine why Plex reads data from some songs, but not all. I checked the file details and both songs have Year data entered.
