How to have plex identify specials

Okay so I have Code Geass Akito the Exile which is actually in the TVDB classified as a Special of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, with the first episode of it being special number 25 (there are 5 episodes of the Akito series actually). I want to know how to label them properly so that Plex will be able to tell that these are these 5 very specific episodes (specials 25-30). Can someone tell me how to label them properly?

Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion - S00E25 - Akito the Exiled The Wyvern Has Landed.ext
Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion - S00E26 - Akito the Exiled The Torn Wyvern.ext
Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion - S00E27 - Akito the Exiled The Brightness Falls.ext
Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion - S00E28 - Akito the Exiled Memories of Hatred.ext
Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion - S00E29 - Akito the Exiled To Those Who are Precious.ext

I put them in a folder called Specials so it would look like this for the first episode, I also drop special characters that are not supported by all operating systems (IE the colon):

/Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion/Specials/Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion - S00E25 - Akito the Exiled The Wyvern Has Landed.ext

Oh so thats how I should label it o.o wow wouldn’t have actually guessed that honestly. They are of course in a seperate folder as I only got the 5 Akito specials. Their the only good specials honestly I felt. Nightmare of Nunnaly and the others lacking alot honestly.

Oh I meant to ask if I label them like that will it still pick them up as if their part of the tv show then too?

Yes. They’ll show up under the specials category for the Show. So when you enter the Code Geass TV Show you should see sections for All, Specials, then the number seasons.

Also, since they have an Air date listed in thetvdb they will fall into the proper spot on the On Deck feature in between the episodes they aired between if you’re watching the show from ondeck.

Okay thats wonderful  thank you very much for your assistance ^.^

Okay so I understand what you just said but what happens if a season has a special in it? Like .hack has season 1 with 4 specials in it. How do I label those? Their not seperate.

You label them just like every other special and place them in the specials folder. When your browsing through the show folder they’ll show up in specials ‘season’, but if you’re watching the show from the ondeck screen it will place the specials where they go by the air by date.

So when you’re browsing for episodes they will only be in the specials folder.
When you’re watching the episodes the next available episode on the on deck will be whatever episode aired after the one you just watched.

Hmmmm… Okay so even though their not actually numbered specials unlike something thats in the special season I would still label it the same?

http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=78896&seasonid=15819&lid=7 Like I have the Red vs Blue dvd sets on here too and those are specials that are labeled under each season. Like Season 1 has its own DVD version while Season 2 has another. But their labeled as Special under each season. HOWEVER there is also a Specials season too and their not in that.

In that case, there’s not a whole lot of naming you could do. Plex pulls the information from sources such as thetvdb, so if you can’t find the specials listed there then Plex won’t be able to find anything for it.

However, what you can do is still label it as a special. Pick a special number that isn’t used by another special (from the online source) and then manually edit the meadata for the show and add an air-date for the episode in between the two episodes that you want it to appear between. The only thing that will not happen, is that no metadata will be pulled automatically for the special (which of course is because there is no online source for it)

Huh, but I mean the special does exist but its just organized under a actual season and not the Special Season.

Do you have a link for that case?

As far as I have seen, every special that falls into a season correlates to a special in the specials section. In the Red vs Blue link you gave the season 1 specials all show up in the specials list (as episodes 1-5).

If you click on the special episode name from the link you gave you can see an aired episode number, that is also the special number when you goto the specials page.

Oh wow your right o.o I didn’t notice it. Just due to the sheer amount of specials there I didn’t notice it.
