That depends totally on your own requirements and of course on the power of the NAS. If you have one of those devices which can transcode, you might try to run PMS on the NAS.
It doesn’t cost anything to try it (except time).

Yes the only thing that was worring me was the migration of the database (to keep the view/unviewed for example abd the different librarys and configuration)
Apart from that I could go again from scratch.

I found the SMART test , and had a normal or extended version (didn’t find the optional write test)
I ran a first one it says it will take around 20 hours…
I guess I have to wait this one to be over to test the next one…
