Again, if you have no need for the particular features there really isn’t a reason to upgrade. I used to have like 7-8 different older versions on TrueNAS on my boot pool and I could go back to any of them if needed.
What I tend to do now is upgrade the pools just before I install an upgrade to TrueNAS. The storage pools are just one version behind then. That way if the new version of TrueNAS has a bug I can still go back to the previous version I had before (that assumedly was working fine with no issues), and I can delete any boot environments older than that one-previous at that time.
