I recently rebuilt my PC, including migrating from a local install of Plex Media Server to a docker-based one. I thought everything went well with the migration but I realized later that the new server “lost” some of my files and “found” some others. That is, there are some files that were visible to the old, local install that are no longer visible to the docker install and vice versa.
I have figured out what I need to do to fix the file visibility issue but, before I do, I would like to try to merge the data from the old database into the current one.
I am mostly interested in restoring information on date/time added and date/time watched but the more information that I can recover, the better.
I started looking around in the DB but there is a lot going on there and it is taking me a while to try to sort through what’s relevant and what isn’t.
I understand this would totally be an “at my own risk” thing but does anyone have any pointers to offer on which tables I should focus my attention on to get me closest to my goal?
