Movies are easy - TMDB is still the better choice for that method.

TV Shows? Yea, best to get FileBot working because if you make one false move your TV Shows either won’t work or will be completely invisible.

i have now tried filebot, but there is a java error when i start to match. The app starts but when i want to match to Movie db i got an java error. I use latest windows 10 with java. I have tried this on two Machines now, same error.
The FileBot package on the Windows Store is self-contained and works out of the box. It doesn’t need nor use the Java you may or may not have installed on your system.
If you get FileBot via other channels, then you’re an advanced user and expected to figure things out for yourself. ![]()

I think it was that time I found 250+ episodes of SG-1 out of whack …
Manually renaming Stargate SG-1 episodes some 10 years ago was literally the raison d’être of FileBot. Looked for tools, didn’t find any, started making my own. ![]()

Yep, I had 9 Seasons on board at the time - they weren’t pretty. They had been working, then one day - poof.
Enter FileBot - fixed in seconds.
I’ve been singing your praises ever since.
