I guess this would be more appropriate in the “how to” section but it would not let me post there. I added game of thrones to my library and the files I have do not have the Dothraki subtitles burned in. I would like the option to watch the show without subtitles for English sections but have the Dothraki subtitles appear. I understand about burning in subtitles for all speech, but I am asking if there is a way to do so for just certain speech during certain scenes.

Go there, find and download the ‘Forced’ subs for Dothraki - they should be marked clearly. <—let’s hope they have versions that fit yours. Trial and error I’m afraid. (You’ll have to search out the seasons)
Anywho, once you get them:
filename.eng.forced.srt
will tell Plex they are forced subs and forced subs only contain the lines of a language you don’t speak… like Dothraki, for instance.
Awesome, thank you for the help. Will I still need to manually enable these subtitles like other SRTs, or will the “forced” designation tell plex to play these automatically?
Name them with a language and if that language is your selected default, Plex will display those with priority. ← most likely they’ll be selected, but if all else fails, providing you tag them exact filename.eng.forced.srt, they will be marked as ‘Forced’ for selection, if necessary.
Finding forced subs that fit your versions is a wild assed crap shoot - make no mistake. GOT is easier as the forced subs for Dothraki are highly sought after as NOBODY speaks Dothraki. Other titles - not so much. The best way to get those is from the disc the file came on. If you don’t get them then - that’s on you…lol
