How to search for a specific movie? i.e. title and year or IMDB/tmdb id?

Hello,

Using the web interface, I feel I must be missing this basic feature, how to search for a specific movie?

For example, I want to find the 1958 version of Dracula. I can search for dracula, and then look through the list for the one I am after, perhaps clicking on ‘Movies’ to narrow the list somewhat…

Searching for ‘dracula 1958’ returns no results.

I could of course filter in the movie library with and advanced filters, for the year and title I am looking for, but this is also needly convoluted.

To put put my question more practically, I want to be able to jump from an IMDB/TMDB page for a specific item as efficiently as possible to that matching record in my plex library. I am not too fussed about how, but I want to minimise steps and clicks.

This becomes particularly annoying when I am looking for a movie where I am not too familiar with the original title. For example, searching for “Adventures of Prince Achmed” or any variation does not match with the original title of “Die Abenteuer des Prinzen Achmed”, only searching alone for Achmed helps…

Any advice? I am hoping it is user error on my part and I can be educated. Thanks

Looks like this movie may have different names in different regions (really common for movies) Try doing a search for tt0051554
