I’ve got a movie (The Cry 2019 The Cry (2019) - IMDb) which I just cant Plex to find. Oddly enough, even though it’s 2 years old, it’s not in TheMovieDB (that I can find).
Anyway, I’ve tried everything I can find here to fix the match, with no luck. I found al older post about using the IMDB ID (tt6266758) as the Title and even tweaked the “Plex Movie” to reference IMDB instead of TheMovieDB (then restarted PMS). No luck.
Since this movie isn’t on TMDB for some reason, how do I get the scraper to check just IMDB? Either that’s not working or (more likely) I didn’t tweak the agent correctly.
I can’t make heads nor tails from the logs, but … I do (think) I see the error where it can’t find anything in TMDB, but I can’t find anything about why it can’t find it in IMDB.
PS: I don’t care about ratings; I’m trying to get the Movie specs (actors, desc, etc) and Cover. Even if I download the cover manually, that won’t get the other details for the movie
I know! Evidently they’ve used “The Cry” as a title since 1901
There has to be a way, though - this is the first movie I haven’t been able to figure out a way (with Community help of course) to force, coerce or cajole a match
I did file a TMDB discussion post to see about addiing it, but if it happens, who knows how long it will take.
The images are ‘Profiles’ - and yes, it’s confusing.
When I add any I have to hunt down and likely edit images that fit TMDB’s rules - and also survive Plex’s Head Chopper 9000 - so it’s not something you just do 'cause you have a few minutes… a certain amount of ‘dedication’ to the process must ensue…
Sorry about that! I just went through the add wizard and it didn’t ask for Year (that I saw). I added some of the basics from IMDB but didn’t get into transferring every detail.
It’s still not working with the date (July 2019). According to IMDB it has been released in the USA. But, unless someone else has tested it and it worked, it probably has to be approved or something before it’s “released” into the wild.
It’s actually a good movie. Although, be warned - it’s black and white. I spent 10 minutes trying to figure out what broke on my TV before realizing it was filmed that way
