How to use Live TV & DVR with "Read only" Plex permissions

Continuing the discussion from Plex Media Server security changes for Synology users:

ChuckPA suggests:

“By leaving your main media library as Read Only, only you can change them. Plex cannot touch them in any way.”

But it is unclear how to use the “Live TV & DVR” function of Plex and still have the DVR recordings automatically added to the media library. Must I create a new, separate media library just for DVR files on a separate R/W share?

Yes when you select a show to record you tell it where to store it and that folder is for example /mnt/DVR only where as the rest of your library would be /mnt/TV where you store ripped content you own as read only
