How to use my Fire TV remote or Alexa to ask it to record live TV which I am already watching

I have a Fire TV Gen 3 and have figured out how to get Alex working with the Plex Skills. I am still figuring out all the things which I can do with it, but one thing I am struggling to find out is how to start recording a live TV program which I am already watching.

My FTV remote does not have a Record button and I have read the support page for Alexa Voice commands and it doesn’t list a ‘Alexa ask Plex to start recording’ or anything like that.

I have tried using the return button on my FTV remote while the live TV program is playing and navigating though all the options in the Plex app itself but whichever steps I go through I loose the picture, and often end up stopping it playing altogether.

I assume there is a simple way to do this but I cant figure it out. Can someone please help?

My server is running on Windows 10 and is Version 1.11.3.4803
My Fire TV Plex app is Version 6.13.7.3458

I do not believe that is an available feature.

As there are two parts to this (Plex App and Plex Skills), I am wondering if it is best to submit one feature request, or submit a request for the two parts separately.
I see there is a ‘Feature Requests’ area in these forums, so I will post there.

with or without Alexa, recording something you are watching live, is not supported by Plex at this time. It is stated as a limitation.
