Record live show option missing FireTV?

I just started using the Live TV and DVR option with my Plex server, but noticed that on the FireTV app there does not seem to be an option to record a live show that is currently airing. This option exists on the web app but I can’t figure this out on FireTV. Am I missing something? I can select future shows and set them to record but not a live show.

Just checked on my Roku TV and the Plex app on it has the ability to hit the * (asterisk) for options and you’re able to record the current live show. Again, I can’t find this on the FireTV app anywhere on multiple different FireTV devices.

Confirming this issue. I have the same issue on all of my fireTV 4ks
Also confirming that Roku has this functionality

Anyone know of a fix?

Thanks for confirming @tacokill

Is there a fix? Is Plex or Amazon responsible for adding in this “option?” How would someone raise this feature request?

I also see the same issue with Firetv stick (non K)

On my FireTv stick what I get is a “Work in progress” screen after I updated the server to the 1.18.4.2171.

I’m always afraid of updating Plex, there is always something wrong.
Don’t they have Quality Engineers as every other software company?
I’d like to see their Quality Gates…

Are you still having this issue? I am new to Plex, and I am currently experiencing the same issue on non-4k Firesticks.

Yup, I have to go log into my computer to start recording something that is already in progress. I can “select down” and change the playback quality… which I never use… but have no way to select record. Oversite?

The issue of not being able to record the live show only happens if you get to it through the “Guide” view. If you go through “What’s on now” - the record option is there. Same thing on Android phones.

Definitely inconvenient and needs to be fixed. But it’ll save you a trip to the computer…
