How's the performance?

I've been considering a Raspi setup with PHT, but I'm concerned about performance. Can anyone comment to the capabilities of the Raspi in this setting?

I have a Roku 3 in my living room now, but I don't use anything other than the Plex app on it and it seems a waste. I could easily buy a bunch of Raspi's and put Pasplex on them and refit my house if the performance is good. Must have surround sound capabilities (irritating Amazon Fire TV).

Performance is fine on 0.4.1, I have 4 Pi's running Rasplex. Make sure you use ethernet (direct or via Powerline adapters), wifi is flaky. Suggest also using the Plex Black Edition Skin found here https://forums.plex.tv/topic/115895-plex-based-skin-modification/?p=689193

Supports Trailers, Extras, etc.

I have two running through Sony AV receivers (HDMI connection) plays AC3(Dolby Digital) and DTS fine once configured in Preferences.

Try it on one Pi before rolling out to make sure you're happy, plenty of support available - just ask, next version cooking.

Regards

Edit - Forgot to mention, uses CEC so you can use your TV remote to control it.

I replaced my Roku3 over 4 months ago with RasPlex.  Worked great.  DTS and AC3 played fine.  Most of my stuff is 720p and never had an issue.  The only problem I had was FF and RR not working in latest version but should be fixed shortly with the release they are currently working on.  I switched to a Gigabyte BRIX about 2 weeks ago but still use the RasPlex in my den  My reason for switching to a BRIX with Windows 7 was due to my large libraries (over a 1000 movies and 85 full seasons of TV shows).  The RasPlex is a little slow when browsing through large libraries but is still very usable.  The PI is an amazing little computer and the people working on RasPlex are great at taking advantage of the PI's capabilities.
