Dumb questions....

What code is RASPlex based on? PHT
Can I be skinned?

I assume latest raspberry PI?
any special requirments?

What remote should I use?

Most of my movies are 5.1 AC3. I have a few DTS and TurHD movies. My AV reciver does the decoding. Any issues with RASPLEX for this?

Is RasPLex come with its own OS? or is it installed on Raspberyy OS?

Rasplex is based on PHT and, yes, it can be skinned. Here’s a link for the skins: forums.plex.tv/categories/third-party-skins

You can use the RaspberryPi B, B+ or RPi2. Obviously, the RPi2 is recommended.

If you have a TV that has the HDMI-CEC, you don’t need any additional remote, the TV remote will control Rasplex.

I’m not 100% sure about all your audio codec formats. I want to say “yes” to all of them in your list but not completely sure on the TrueHD. I’ve been using Rasplex for about a month so I haven’t completely dug through enough with audio pass through…

Rasplex uses the OpenELEC OS as its base, so all you need to do is use the latest installer available (http://www.rasplex.com/get-started/rasplex-installers.html) and it’ll do all the work for you. Just follow the process listed.

thanks much.
I will set up after thanksgiving I think

Much thanks on the hdmi cec tip.

I have different avr and TV. But turned it on and it works. Got rid of one remote.

There is a dongle you can buy that enables hdmi cec on a Windows compiter
Going to get that for the htpc

Best skin for Rasplex is Plex Black EditionHT by @DeadEyeFlint

DD(AC3), DD+(EAC3) and DTS no problem if you enable them as passthrough (capable receiver) in Preferences->System->Audio output, TrueHD will default to core DTS.

that will work
that is how I presently do things. My receiver supports.

thanks
