HW Transcoding linux worked in the past, not now

Months ago, I tested the free trial 1 month of premium and I was able to use hw transcode without problems. This Christmas I bought one plex lifetime pass, but hw transcoding is not working anymore. If I change to sw transcoding then everything’s fine, but as soon as I enable the HW transcoding, the video is stuttering and at a 0.2 fps while the sound is good.

I can reproduce video in original quality with and without hw transcoding without any problem.

In the Summary you can see a log but I think the important parts are:

Be careful to stay away from HEVC10/10bit files, you won’t ave support for hw transcode.

Hi,

the problem remains with the deb from this thread.
It says it will use VAAPI but CPU is used instead …
could someone point me on the latest working DEB ?

I’d like to notice that this BUG is still open.

I’m using Ubuntu’s official PPA on a Intel® Celeron® J4105 CPU

HW Transcode is not working unless “/usr/lib/plexmediaserver/lib/dri/iHD_drv_video.so” is removed from the system.

I have to remove this file everytime I upgrade the plexmediaserver package to have the HW transcode working.
