HW transcoding does not happen. Looks like Plex can not detect HW transcoding in latest Intel CPU’s this one is
“Intel NUC 13 Pro,Newest 13th Gen NUC13ANHi7 Mini PC(Core i7-1360P Processor, Intel Iris Xe Graphics”
Any hints on running Windows on this - will Plex eventually detect the CPU/GPUI for transcoding? Note - all drivers uptodate - no running of any remote management tools
You will have to enable the embedded GPU in the BIOS and
install the driver software for the embedded GPU.
Install all Windows updates (may require several restarts after a fresh installation).
Install the 64 bit version of Plex server.
Use a regular “desktop” version of Windows. No “data center”, no “N” version.
Thanks for the logs, but you have enbled Verbose logging.
DON’T do that please, unless explicitly requested.
It makes your logs much harder to walk through and is unnecessary in 99% of all cases.
Hey there, I seem to be having the same issue as the original poster. Same intel nuc, same windows install/setup/etc. I tried doing the suggestions you listed, I was able to do them all except the enabling the embedded gpu in the bios. I could not find an explicit setting for that.
I think I may know the problem actually. I think that video format is just not supported. I tried transcoding something else and hw transcoding occurred. I don’t know how to verify which video formats are compatible with this gpu (Intel Iris Xe Graphics) as I think it may be too new for that chart you linked.
